Well we have got through no end of minor hiccoughs and have arrived safely in Singapore and spent our first two days here. We have been very tired and it didn't help with 5 or 6 overtired babies and infants on the flight who didn't sleep and took it in turns to cry through the flight. We seemed to have mostly been sleeping since then but have managed some sightseeing.
Singapore is great but bigger than I thought. The hotel is very nice quite upmarket for us, lots of facilities.
Day 1
Today we went on two trips, the first in the morning was a city tour well whirlwind city tour. We saw colonial past,
cultural centres
Taoist Temple in China Town
botanical gardens absolutely fab
The National Orchid Garden
Little India was not as good as I hoped but as we were leaving we did see a market which looked more interesting and what I had been hoping for,but we didn't have time to visit it as the bus was leaving.
Little India
The evening tour to the Zoo Safari was great, we had booked dinner and there was a buffet with food from all Asian cuisines and European. Some of the attractions included two young (male) scantily dressed fire eaters.
Fire eating at the zoo
Walking along the trails in jungle like conditions at night was quite exiting and beats Bristol Zoo any day.
this little chap is a Fishcat and is about the size of a wildcat or so. He was behind glass of course as were the other animals of any size. The Lions were in a ditched enclosure. We did walk through a bat house (after some persuasion on my part) but they flew overhead and didn't fly near us.
I hope the film has come out as I have had some trouble with it.
